Pergolas, Decks & Porches in Sherrills Ford, NC
Custom outdoor structures — pergolas, pavilions, decks, screened and covered porches — framed and finished by our own carpentry crews.
Pergolas, Decks & Porches built for Sherrills Ford properties
Sherrills Ford sits on the western shore of Lake Norman, with many waterfront and water-view homes on wooded, sloped lots. Shoreline grades, erosion control and lake-facing outdoor living are the center of most projects here.
Structures are where craftsmanship shows. We set proper footings, frame to code, flash and detail every connection to the house, and finish with materials chosen for the exposure: composite or hardwood decking, cedar or aluminum pergolas, tongue-and-groove ceilings, and trim that matches your existing architecture.
A covered structure changes how long you use the yard each year. We plan roof pitch, post placement and ceiling height around sightlines and sun angle, then wire in fans, lighting, heaters and TV mounts during framing so the finished ceiling has no surprises.

Common Questions
Pergolas, Decks & Porches in Sherrills Ford: FAQs
Do you offer pergolas, decks & porches in Sherrills Ford, NC?
Yes. Sherrills Ford is part of our regular service area from our base in Cornelius, NC. We work in the Mollys Backbone Road area, Slanting Bridge Road and western-shore lake communities, and every project gets a free on-site visit and a written quote.
Do I need a permit for pergolas, decks & porches in Sherrills Ford?
Structures like this usually need a building permit, and HOA approval is common. Sherrills Ford is unincorporated, so zoning and building permits run through Catawba County. We confirm the requirements for your address before work starts.
Do you work on lakefront properties in Sherrills Ford?
Yes. Lakefront lots in Sherrills Ford often have steep grades toward the water, and work within the shoreline buffer may need approval from Duke Energy Lake Services and the local planning office. We plan erosion control, drainage and access before work starts.
How soon can you start a project in Sherrills Ford?
We usually schedule the on-site visit within a few days of your call. Start dates depend on the season, the size of the job and any HOA or permit approvals, and we give you a clear schedule window in your written quote.
Do I need a permit for a deck or covered porch?
Most attached structures do. We handle plan sets, permitting and inspections as part of the project so you are not chasing the county.
Composite or wood decking?
Composite costs more up front and almost nothing to maintain; wood is cheaper and needs sealing. We install both and will price the two side by side.
Can you tie a new porch into my existing roofline?
Yes — matching pitch, shingles and trim is standard for us, and our roofing crew does the tie-in and flashing.
