What we build

Around Lake Norman, most yards move because water was never dealt with. Every wall we build starts with a drainage plan: clean stone backfill, filter fabric, perforated drain tile and daylighted outlets so hydrostatic pressure never gets a chance to push the wall out. Taller walls get geogrid reinforcement layers tied back into the hillside.

Walls also do design work. Terraced walls turn an unusable slope into flat, planted living space; seating walls define a patio edge; pier-supported walls let us build near a lot line or existing structure. We match caps and colors to your hardscape so the wall reads as part of the design instead of a repair.

Common Questions

Questions we get asked

How tall can a retaining wall be built?

We build everything from low seating walls to tall tiered systems. Past certain heights and surcharge conditions the wall needs engineering and permitting — we will tell you up front which category your slope falls into.

Why do retaining walls fail?

Almost always water and base. A wall without stone backfill and drain tile becomes a dam. We build the drainage first, which is the part you never see and the reason the wall stays straight.

Can you rebuild a leaning wall?

Yes. We take it down, correct the base and drainage, add reinforcement where needed, and rebuild — often reusing sound block or stone to control cost.
